Thanks for stopping by! My name is Kayla Barnard. I was originally Kayla Taylor, born and raised in California, MO. I was a Pinto all through my school years, graduating in California in 2001 and was very involved in the music program in high school.
I graduated from Lincoln University in 2005, married Jeremy two weeks later and moved to Bolivar. I taught fourth grade in Fair Play, MO for three years, then we moved to a tiny little community called Long Lane. I taught third grade in nearby Lebanon, MO for four years.
This is my second year at California, ninth year total. Where has the time gone? It is such a privilege to be back in the same halls I attended as a student.
My husband, Jeremy, is the pastor at Lebanon Baptist Church in McGirk. We have two precious kiddos. Jackson is five and loves anything Spiderman, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles or Power Rangers. He starts Kindergarten this year and I am thrilled for him. I can't wait for him to learn to read! Kennedy is two and a half and loves to play with everything except her toys. She loves to chase and aggravate our dog Wrigley, who is six years old. (He was our first "kid"!) She will be attending playschool two days a week. I am excited for her to make new little friends and show me all she learns!
